Edgar Renteria clarified his minor injury Saturday to say it was a strained muscle in his left ribcage area, not his back, as Cox had indicated Friday.

Renteria, who hurt the side dodging a foul ball off the batting screen, missed Friday's workout and was somewhat limited Saturday.

"He felt good," Cox said, "but it was the smart thing to do. Why push it?"

Cox said he expected Renteria to be closer to full strength by Sunday, the first day infielders field grounders and throw over to first.

Chipper Jones and Marcus Giles weren't at the Ballpark at Disney on Saturday. Jones was spending time with his family. It was one of the first chances he'd had to spend time with his 18-month-old son Shea after he battled a virus that forced his hospitalization a couple of weeks back. Giles missed the workout because of personal reasons.
